01 / Challenge

The task

The existing shop held a valuable but heavy product archive. The task was to preserve the catalog, imagery and category logic while replacing the maintenance burden of the previous WordPress and WooCommerce setup.

02 / Process

How I built it

  1. 01

I extracted and normalised the product and category data instead of recreating more than a hundred entries by hand.

  2. 02

I processed the existing image library and connected each product to a simpler static catalog structure.

  3. 03

I built product discovery and enquiry paths around how a local ceramics workshop actually sells, rather than forcing a conventional checkout flow.

03 / Decisions

What matters

01

Catalog before commerce

The new experience prioritises browsing and direct product enquiries, matching the workshop’s real sales process.

02

Structured migration

133 products and 16 categories were converted into maintainable data instead of being trapped in page markup.

03

Image-led browsing

More than 190 source images were organised to keep the hand-painted work central throughout the catalog.

04 / Interface

05 / Result

Where it landed

The migration produced a static 159-page site with a complete searchable product story, clearer maintenance and far less runtime complexity.
